Keep skills sharp this summer!

Here are some sites to access for your child which will help keep skills sharp this summer and avoid the "have to catch up" problem most students experience when school begins. As always, check them out first yourself and always monitor your child while he or she is on the web. Please visit this local site to have your child develop fluency with common site words. After practicing the lists, have your child take the timed quizzes! http://curriculum.leeschools.net/words/words_main.htm I was going to list a couple great sites for each of the Literacy Components (reading skills), but space prevented that. Here is a comprehensive site with many options for practice. Please explore with your child!!! http://rmtc.fsdb.k12.fl.us/literacy/readingcomponents.html

Fort Myers Christian School is now accepting applications for the 2010 -2011 school year. The Learning Resource Program here at FMCS provides services to students K-8 who are diagnosed with a mild learning disability, dyslexia, or ADD/ADHD. We accept the McKay Scholarship and have speech, language and occupational therapy available during the school day through KidSpirit who has partnered with us successfully this year.

Please call the school office at 239-939-4642 to schedule a tour and have a registration packet sent to you or go to www.fmcs-fl.org to find forms and more information. Please indicate you are interested in the Learning Resource Program so the proper forms will be included in the packet. I look forward to meeting you and your child!
